Lebanon's Visa Regulations And Security

Visa Regulations :

Visa regulations are the result of bilateral agreements between states, every student should check the visa requirements with the Lebanese embassy in their country prior departure. Many countries are able to get a visa (valid for one month and renewable twice) upon arrival at the airport. For stays exceeding 3 months, it is preferable to go through a visa application before coming to Lebanon, the other way would be to exit and re-enter the country.

79 countries are eligible to get a tourist visa arriving at Beirut International Airport without procedures at a Lebanese embassy, please check the following link for more details:

Most of our students enter Lebanon with a tourist visa when registering for a Trimester or more. However it is advised to apply for a student visa in your country of origin when registering for our classes.

Security in Lebanon :

Lebanon is safe for anyone wishing to live or visit this country but of course, as for any country around the world, certain districts should be avoided. Between 2013 and 2016, as a result of Syria’s violent civil war, some fighting erupted between two neighborhoods in the northern part of Tripoli. Limited to certain areas, the clashes ended early 2014 and the situation has been calm for the past few years.

Every student upon arrival will receive a leaflet about Tripoli and Beirut and the basic security measures which all of us should abide to.

Well aware of political developments and local dynamics, the Levantine Institute of Lebanon will provide its students through our courses a good understanding of Lebanon.

Please do not hesitate to send us an email if you need any additional info about Lebanon in general!
